AZBUKA STRIKES BACK: Alevtina Kakhidze, “AZBUKA of plants STRIKES BACK to humans”, 3 September 2022, 4:30 PM



In a workshop for adults and children, Alevtina Kakhidze will draw with a view at plant world commonly in time of Soviet Union. All plants were named simple a nature. Later she had to refuse  many of those solid beliefs and credos, some of them were connected to ideology politics. At the moment she is researching stable systems of plants like steppe and prairie, part of her strong interest are invasive plants in relation to eco systems, also achievements on perennial species for agricultural activity like wheat or rice.


Alevtina Kakhidze (1973, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian artist. She works predominantly with performance and drawing. Based in Muzychi, Ukraine, 26 kilometers from Kyiv and having grown up in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, Kakhidze has experienced Ukraine’s abrupt and chaotic changes from the days of the USSR to the imbalanced environment after, including undeclared war between Russia and Ukraine in 2014 and the recent brutal attack that started on the 24th of February 2022.
